The GRASS WEAVE LINE is a collaboration between MCV Designs and Tagolwanen Women Weavers Association (TWWA). These handwoven mats are done in the traditional IKAM tradition and are made of sodsod grass. The cooperative of women weavers is located in Malaybalay, Bukidnon in the southern island of Mindanao.
These talented women formed the Tagolwanen Women Weavers Association, Inc. (TWWA, Inc.). The association aspires to preserve and promote the Bukidnon-Tagoloanen tradition of weaving, as well as the customs and traditions that surround it. It recognizes banig making, not as a historical artifact, but a daily activity that is part of the lumad identity and culture.
